Trevs '98 Honda VFR 800 FIWU

Trev recently bought his VFR after his previous mount, a '97 Suzuki DR650SEV was stolen.

The bike is silver to match his car and is fitted with a hi-rise Staintune sports muffler to open the sound of the V-four right up.  The exhaust note is magic, especially when combined with the whine of the gear driven cams.

The VFR has a single sided swingarm which is a trick looking bit of gear.
The bike is classified as a sports-tourer.

The V-Four pumps out around 100 horsepower with a nice flat torque curve to match.

It takes a bit of a dip on the clutch to get the front rising but once it is on the way up it is fairly easy to keep up there to around 150 kph.

The bike handles reasonably well but is no match in the cornering stakes for some of the more nimbler/lighter bikes that are on the market.  But that just means you have to push a bit harder to beat them.

It has rather a trick dash layout incorporating the normal analogue speedo and tacho, but with an LCD side-display that shows the rider; fuel level, outside air-temp, engine coolant temp, two tripmeters and the odometer.

The VFR pumps out around 100 horsepower  and covers the quarter mile in 11 seconds.    0-100 is achieved in 3 seconds.
